A man wakes up to find himself in a body that is not of his own and not even of flesh. He is now a lumbering hulk of a robot on a futuristic world that's long past its golden age and teetering on the brink of oblivion. Massive towers and spires of glass, metal and plastics surround him every which way and they're all mired by aging ruin, scars of battle and the eerie electric purple skyscape that hangs above them all.
He clumsily wanders for a little while, chasing after a phantom glimmer of white and blue that he just knew to follow, until he comes upon a still functioning shelter where he finds a young girl asleep in glowing pod. The shelter responds to his arrival with all manners of sounds and lights until the silence descends and the girl in the pod begins to stir.
Hours pass him by quickly as she emerges out of her pod dazed initially but quick to grasp the circumstances of their meeting. She tries to communicate with him but her words fail to her confusion and so she resorts to props and more animated gestures to tell him why he is here:
He is fuel for the machine. The machine is there for her. She must make a journey across this world beyond the purple sky and they must hurry to the next shelter because fuel runs out.
