"Good evening, mister."
In my lowest of lows, I found myself being addressed by a young girl. She stepped out of the dark and the silence so suddenly that I thought her to be a spirit. My fear was brief as my rationality took hold of me and I recognized her to be one of the children that lived nearby. I made to ask her what she was doing out at such a late hour but she began speaking of things. Things no one could know.
Her words seemed silly at first but then an odd resonating madness began ringing through them. I steeled myself to shake off the surreality she claimed to be truth but then she started speaking of me. She spoke of the life I've led. She spoke of my limits, my fears, my deepest secrets and my imminent end. She knew what I intended and she knew why. I tried to deny her but her words weighed me down and deprived me of pretense. I could only listen.
"Past, present and future - I see and know all that can be, all that would be and all that should be. I could make it rain fire with a single call. I can turn pocket change into a fortune. I could fix everything wrong with your life. If I wanted to that is."
"...what do I have to do make to you want that?"
She gave me a satisfied smirk.
"You say yes. You say it from this point on. You say it to me, out loud and in your every action."
She leans forwards and holds out her hand.
"What do you say?"
